Trash Haulers Represented by Nichols Kaster, PLLP Bring Nationwide Lawsuit to Recover Overtime Pay for Unpaid BreaksMINNEAPOLIS, MN -- (Marketwire) -- 08/19/08 -- Nichols Kaster, PLLP has brought a putative nationwide overtime lawsuit on behalf of sanitation truck drivers and ride-along helpers. The suit was filed against Waste Management, Inc. in the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota on August 18, 2008. The suit was brought by current and former sanitation truck drivers and ride-along helpers who allege that Waste Management, Inc. regularly required them to work through their unpaid breaks in order to get their routes done quickly. Plaintiffs' attorney Michele Fisher stated, "It is unlawful for an employer to deduct time for meal periods that employees miss because they are too busy trying to get their routes done in a timely manner. We believe that Waste Management, Inc. knew these employees were routinely missing their breaks, but still denied them this pay." Plaintiffs are represented by Michele Fisher and Paul Lukas from Nichols Kaster, PLLP, which has offices in Minneapolis, Minnesota and San Francisco, California. The case is entitled Saleen v. Waste Management, Inc., 08-4959 PJS/AJB. Individuals may find additional information at www.overtimecases.com or by calling Nichols Kaster, PLLP toll free at (877) 448-0492.
