Eset Achieves ICSA Labs Anti-Virus Certification for the Third Year

ICSA Labs Extends Certification of NOD32 to Demonstrate Eset's Commitment to Excellence in Delivering High Quality Anti-Virus Solutions

CORONADO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 08/09/04 -- Eset, a leading provider of Internet software security solutions, today announced that NOD32 Anti-Virus System has achieved certification by ICSA Labs®, an independent division of TruSecure Corporation®. Eset's unique heuristics-based anti-virus product NOD32 successfully met ICSA Labs' stringent industry standards to earn certification for the third year. This recertification validates Eset's commitment to continuing its effort to sustain high customer confidence in its security products.

"According to the ICSA Labs annual Virus Prevalence Survey, viruses are rapidly becoming a top security issue with 87% of respondents agreeing that the virus problem has become significantly worse this year. Now more than ever, the industry is relying on ICSA Labs to help determine which anti-virus products can effectively protect users and businesses against new threats," said Larry Bridwell, ICSA Labs Content Security Programs Manager. "NOD32 passed our rigorous certification tests by detecting the ICSA Labs comprehensive test set. With its excellent long-term detection track record due to frequent updates and its surprisingly low system requirements, NOD32 is clearly providing its customers with a beneficial anti-virus solution."

The ICSA Labs' Anti-Virus Certification Program provides the user community with the assurance that all ICSA Labs Certified anti-virus products comply with industry-accepted criteria. In order to complete the certification, NOD32 successfully completed a series of tests that included 100% detection of viruses listed in several virus lists and collections including the current In The Wild List, the ICSA Labs Common Infectors Test Suite, the ICSA Labs Polymorphic Test Suite, and the ICSA Labs Virus Collection. The ICSA Labs Anti-Virus Certification Program also calls for regular Certification Maintenance testing throughout the entire certification period to ensure that NOD32 detects the latest virus threats and vulnerabilities.

"We understand the critical need to protect personal and business computer systems against viruses with a trusted, reliable solution to effectively combat these threats," said Eset CEO Anton Zajac. "By completing the ICSA Labs Anti-Virus Certification Program, Eset is demonstrating its leadership in providing quality anti-virus solutions for its customers. We are pleased to once again add certification by this respected industry organization to NOD32's growing list of awards and industry achievements as we continue to deliver the best anti-virus products available worldwide."
